The VNUHCM–US Stem Cell Institute (VNUHCM-US SCI) is a scientific and technological institute affiliated with the University of Science, Viet Nam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Our origin dates back to 2007, when the Stem Cell Research and Application Laboratory was founded as one of Viet Nam’s first dedicated stem cell research centers.
On June 12, 2017, the Laboratory evolved into the VNUHCM–US Stem Cell Institute, a Category-1 autonomous institute with its own seal, bank account, and license to operate in science and technology granted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology.
To unify resources and strengthen research capacity, on January 24, 2025, the President of VNUHCM–US signed Decision No. 211/QĐ-KHTN, merging the Laboratory into the Institute.
Since February 1, 2025, VNUHCM–US has maintained one unified entity for stem cell research and application — the VNUHCM–US Stem Cell Institute.
Today, we are Viet Nam’s leading center for stem cell research, technology transfer, and innovation, advancing regenerative medicine through scientific excellence, collaboration, and integrity.
