Notice Regarding the Recruitment of Research Staff with Master’s and Doctoral Degrees to Work at the VNUHCM-US Stem Cell Institute

To meet the requirements for implementing in-depth research orientations, key science and technology programs, and domestic and international collaborative research projects in the fields of cell biology, stem cell biology, and molecular biology, the VNUHCM-US Stem Cell Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “Institute”), University of Science, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), hereby announces its plan to recruit full-time research personnel as follows:

II. JOB DESCRIPTION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Researcher Position – Doctoral Degree
  • Directly lead or participate in the implementation of state-level, ministerial-level, and VNU-HCM-level scientific research projects, as well as the Institute’s international collaborative research projects.
  • Design advanced experimental models; master procedures for isolation, culture, and quality assessment of stem cells or biological products; and analyze molecular mechanisms.
  • Prepare periodic scientific reports and project completion reports; draft high- quality scientific manuscripts for publication in reputable international journals indexed in Scopus/Web of Science (WoS) and participate in intellectual property/patent registration and protection.
  • Support the management and operation of specialized laboratory equipment and systems; provide technical guidance and training to graduate students, PhD candidates, and research assistants within the group.
  • Participate in scientific workshops and seminars and expand academic collaboration networks.
  1. Researcher Position – Master’s Degree
  • Directly perform and implement cell culture, molecular biology, immunology, and cell function assessment experiments according to assigned research plans.
  • Monitor and maintain experiment logs; collect and process experimental data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in data compilation, prepare technical reports, and support the drafting of scientific manuscripts for international publication.
  • Coordinate laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration and strictly comply with biosafety regulations.

III. CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education and field of specialization: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or other related life science fields.
  2. Age: Under 45 years of age (as of the application submission date).
  3. Scientific publication record (mandatory criterion): Applicants must have at least three (03) scientific papers as first author published in international journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science (WoS).
  4. Foreign language proficiency: Proficient in English, with all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing); able to read and understand specialized literature, write scientific papers, and present/communicate confidently in academic settings.
  5. Personal qualities and skills
  • Passion for scientific research, a strong sense of responsibility, high discipline, and independent research thinking.
  • Good teamwork and problem-solving skills and the ability to work under high pressure in an advanced research environment.

IV. BENEFITS AND REMUNERATION

  • Salary: Negotiable (competitive and commensurate with qualifications, academic degree, capabilities, and actual contributions).

  • Work in a professional research environment in Viet Nam in the fields of stem cell technology and regenerative medicine.
  • Access to and utilization of advanced research equipment and facilities, including cGMP cleanrooms, flow cytometry, real-time PCR, extracellular vesicle (exosome) analysis systems, confocal microscopy, and other specialized equipment.

V. RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE AND START DATE

VI. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

  1. Cover Letter stating the applicant’s reasons for applying, research orientation, and research aspirations.
  2. Detailed academic CV covering educational background, work experience, and a list of scientific publications (with DOI identifiers or verification links on Scopus/WoS).
  3. Full text of at least three (03) scientific papers for which the applicant is the first author and which are indexed in Scopus/WoS.
  4. Copies of Master’s/Doctoral degrees, transcripts, and foreign-language certificates (if any).
  5. Recommendation Letter: Applicants are encouraged to submit one (01) to two (02) recommendation letters from professors, experts, or academic supervisors.
